Welcome to Friends of Food For Thought, inc.
We're a Denver-based non-profit that's dedicated to building literacy for at-risk children.
For 20 years, Friends of Food For Thought has been helping Denver's underprivileged children experience the joys of books and reading.
Our mission is to provide books and other means to help at-risk children build their literacy skills so that they might enjoy of lifetime of reading.

You Can Help
There are many ways you can help us help Denver's deserving kids improve their literacy and build their self-esteem:
COLLECTING BOOKS-
We're always collecting books for our kids. We need good, usable books for children of all ages. While our core mission directs us to build literacy in younger children, we are also able to help bring the power of literacy to older kids, as well.
These are the types of books we're looking for:
DISTRIBUTING BOOKS-
We work hard to get books into the hands of Denver's hungriest minds. Throughout the year, we distribute books to young children through our partnerships with area schools, organizations, and Denver Department of Human Resources.
Our books are distributed through gift baskets, back-to-school backpacks, by social workers, and volunteers who man bookcarts at the main location for Denver's Department of Human Resources.
We are always glad to partner with reading programs across the metro area. If you have a program that serves at-risk kids, please let us know if you need books.
